LASSIE - Libraries and Social Software in Education
Introduction
LASSIE was a 9 month project funded by the Centre for Distance Education at the University of London. It started in March 2007 and was completed in January 2008. It explored how social software might enhance distance learners' use of libraries. It also considered more widely the value of new technologies, commonly called web 2.0, or social software, for libraries and explored the role of the library as a social space.
The LASSIE Project Blog is still being maintained so do add it to your feed reader! To read more about the project see the summary below.

- Social bookmarking: see our list of resources for the project in del.icio.us
- Podcasting: see our Citing and Referencing screencast
- CiteULike and H20 Playlists for creating online reading lists
- Social networking: Join the Library 2.0 network on Ning
