What is it?
Virtual worlds are 3-D environments, where users can interact with one another. Second Life is such a ‘world’. It is created and inhabited by ‘avatars’, 3-D representations which can walk, talk, fly and interact with each other.

Virtual environments, 3-D computer-based simulated environments, Second Life (the most known virtual world)
Use it
- For role-playing activities
- For simulations
- To host events that involve people from outside LSE
- To visit virtual locations in the world (i.e. museums, art galleries, historic buildings & events etc.)
Get started
- Create your virtual persona (avatar)
- Download Second Life Viewer
- Visit Castors Retreat - LSE's island in Second Life
